Fabiano Millani Cassarotti
The son of an aspiring nun and a recovering alcoholic, born in São Paulo and a Gaucho at heart, he saw in the contrasts of life the traits to create his vision of reality.
When he was little, his parents would go to the city and leave Millani and his two brothers at the library. At the time, he couldn't read, so he spent all his time looking at pictures, photos and drawings, which was what fascinated him.
At home, he used to draw superheroes on construction paper and cardboard; they were his dolls to play with. Years later, at the same library, he began taking a drawing class and soon realized that this would not be just a pastime or entertainment; Millani wanted to draw for the rest of his life. He spent his days among paper and pencils, and soon sold his first drawing, at the time for 1 dollar, and his greatest wish was to buy a pad with 20 sheets.
After 1 year, the teacher stopped the course and Millani continued the classes, but this time as a teacher. Millani then became a father to a daughter named Sabrina. It was a great joy and an equally great concern. Without financial resources, he received help from his parents to raise his daughter.
At the age of 20, Millani moved to the city of São Paulo to make a living from art, where he would have more opportunities and a greater financial return. He spent a long time drawing and practicing, but without the return he needed.
After 6 months, he received a job offer, not to continue drawing, but to return to his city and family. Millani felt empty and ended up quitting his job. He spent years leaving formal jobs to invest in painting, but for years it didn't work out. There came a time when he gave up everything and fought for art. And it was from that moment that everything started to flow, because there was no other option but to paint.
When he first ordered paintings, he didn't have the money to buy the materials, so he asked for half the amount in advance so he could paint. To save money, deliveries were made by motorcycle taxi and Millani would go along carrying the painting, terrified of ruining the entire painting.
In the beginning, there was a client who ordered one painting per month, which encouraged him to open his first drawing and painting studio. Soon, he had more than 60 students. Then came workshops in other cities, other states and in various places around the world, in several countries and with thousands of students in face-to-face classes, workshops and video classes.
His motto is “We continue adding art”
